The Winning Attitude of a Competitive Athlete

A winning attitude is a key ingredient that all athletes need in order to perform their best.

What you think and say to yourself shapes your attitude. Negative self-talk can lead to poor performance. Positive self-talk and positive feelings can stimulate great performances and the satisfaction of accomplishment.

It can be the difference between first and second place.

You can cognitively restructure the subconscious part of your mind where attitudes reside.  With powerful positive statements, called "affirmations", which are repeated continuously.  When your subconscious is subjected to affirmations, doubts and negative thoughts are replaced with an attitude of a consistent winner.

Positive affirmations have an amazing power to bring about changes in your attitude and level of performance.

Reach New Heights with the Right Frame of Mind

Every athlete has a state of mind that facilitates peak performance. Athletes that learn to achieve this ideal state have a significant advantage over competitors that cannot. Some athletes learn to bring on this ideal state through trial and error. Some achieve this state by chance. Others never learn, and as a result, are rarely able to consistently bring out their best.

Voluntary Relaxation and Visual Rehearsal are the basic skills that must be developed if the Peak Performance State is to be achieved. Voluntary Relaxation is the ability to consciously calm the mind and body and significantly increase concentration. Visual Rehearsal is the ability to produce and creatively manipulate mental images of your own best performance. When you learn to practice properly in the theater of your mind you multiply your quality practice time. This is very important because:

ONLY PERFECT PRACTICE LEADS TO PERFORMANCE THAT APPROACHES PERFECTION!

The theater of your mind is the only place where you can practice perfectly every time.

Whenever attention is concentrated on an idea over and over again, the idea tends to spontaneously realize itself.

Repetitive mass media commercials used in advertising are typical examples of everyday applications of this law.

  1. Say your affirmations aloud at least once each day.
